Brake Pads

Brake pads (found on the "Fuel & Strateg" page of the cars setup) allow you to choose the amount of braking power / aggression and brake feel.

  • Pad 1: Very aggressive friction coefficient, max braking performance, aggressive disc and pad wear. Pedal modulation can be tricky if out of ideal temperature range or as pads and discs wears down. Use in hotlap, qualifying sessions and races less than 1 hour 30 minutes. Some tracks that are less brake heavy may allow for longer running before seeing brake fade.
  • Pad 2: Very Good friction coefficient, very good braking performance, good disc and pad wear. Pedal modulation almost always good and linear, good feedback while overheating and gradual wear. Ideal for endurance racing, hotlap, qualifying sessions and sprint races for those looking for better braking modulation and predictability than brake pads 1. Also useable in wet conditions providing there isn't too much standing water. These pads should last 12 hours, maybe longer if looked after and the track isn't too harsh on the brakes.
  • Pad 3: Moderate friction coefficient, braking zones can be longer in dry, very moderate disc and pad wear. Excellent pedal modulation in cold ambient conditions, with very linear pedal feedback. Excellent choice for wet conditions and very long endurance races.
  • Pad 4: Identical to pad 1 but with exaggerated wear for fade demonstration purposes. Recommended not to use.

Note:: The brake pad type will also have an influence on brake temperatures. See Brake Ducts section for more info.
