Overheating Tyres

Driving style is the most important factor here. Don't push the car as hard by being smoother with throttle off slow corners and by turning less in mid-high speed turns to not scrub or push the tyres as hard.

If track and ambient temperatures are very hot and adjusting your driving style isn't helping, and assuming pressures are correct, do the following modifications one at a time (ordered from more to less influence):

  • Open brake ducts (higher numbers)
  • Less negative camber
  • Less negative toe (closer to 0)
  • Higher ABS and TC levels

Trying to push through overheating tyres can cause the tyres to blister, which can rapidly decrease the amount of tyre grip (depending on the amount of blistering occuring) and increase wear. It's almost impossible to recover from blistered tyres, so you will need to either need to pit for fresh tyres or manage it.

In this scenario, you will need to ease off on your driving, reduce the amount of sliding as much as possible in order to try and preserve the tyres and prevent the blistering from getting worse.
